hooked up the gas line properly and have gas to burners but there not regulating properly because i think i need a pilot light light for it

All or most of the newer gas stoves do not have pilots lites (flame)
they are much like the out door grill,they are electric starters but instead of pushing a button like on the grill ,the starter starts when You turn on the burner stove..Most are 115 volt powered.Does Your stove have a plug? You need to check that out first...Other wise You will have to lite the pilot flame use one of those long fire place lighters
There could have been air in the line that needed bled off ..But when in question call the gas supplier to check it out..
